A Chinese spy balloon coursed over Alaska, down through Canada, and then into the U.S. proper. It hovered over military and defense sites and then exited over South Carolina, where it was shot down. There were at least three other UFOs that were shot down in the aftermath, which probably were smaller weather balloons.
The incompetence of defense and governmental response to this incursion is monumental. Questions remain about when these objects were detected and when and what response was initially contemplated. Once a news agency published photographs of the spy balloon over Montana, it became public knowledge, and then the government felt compelled to acknowledge and address this foreign incursion.
The president’s response seemed confused and disorganized, claiming that it was an innocuous weather balloon and later admitting it was a spy balloon. Then they let it hover and drift across the U.S. after failing to act when it could have been brought down over Montana with little harm to people. This hesitation then increased the possibility of civilian injury if it was shot down as it sailed over more populous areas.
The defense department is spending money on ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion rather than the defense of our nation. This wokeness and non-defense-related impetus make us less ready militarily to address incursions in our airspace and less prepared to defend the U.S.
